Carole Grace Koenig Baker, age 75, died in her home surrounded by family on March 25, 2021, after battling lung cancer. A graveside service will be held at the family cemetery on the Baker Ranch at 1114 Madrone Trail, Blanco, Texas, 78606, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021. A meal of Italian food, (Carole’s favorite) will be served following the service.
Carole was born August 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to Warren Eli Albert Koenig and Josephine Carolyn Laprezioso Koenig. Carole graduated from Pemberton Township High School, in 1963, in Burlington County, New Jersey. After moving to Texas, Carole raised one son, Christopher Pisacane Koenig. She began a career with USAA, where she started as a secretary and worked her way up before retiring as an IT Systems Manager. She married Amil M. Baker, Jr., January 31, 1998. Carole was a talented painter, and painted several of the bluebonnet and other pictures gracing the ranch house walls. She also enjoyed puzzles, mysteries, playing the slot machines and listening to 70’s era Country music and 60’s era folk music. Carole is preceded in death by father Warren Eli Albert Koenig and mother Josephine Carolyn Laprezioso Koenig, and uncles Wilber “Ed” Koenig and Stanley Koenig. Carole is survived by her husband, Amil M. Baker, Jr., her children Christopher Pisacane Koenig (Laura), Cheryl Ann Hill (Peter) and Chris Amil Baker, grandchildren David Matthew Koenig, Christine Gabrielle Koenig, Stephen Michael Koenig, Brian Joseph Koenig, Jacob Andrew Rickman (Hillary), Joshua Aaron Rickman (Suzanna), Cassie LaRue Williams (James), uncle H.W. “Buddy” Koenig and aunt Dessie Schmid Koenig.
