KISD: TEA Approval for Geospatial Engineering and Land Surveying Path

Recently, Deborah Bronner-Westerduin, Director of Career and Technical Education Programs at Klein ISD received this exciting news: “Congratulations, your application for a regional program of study in Geospatial Engineering has been approved.” from Les Husdon, CTE Statewide Coordinator at the Texas Education Agency. Ms. Bronner-Westerduin stated: “This is a true example of industry and education partnering together to impact the future! Thank you to each of you for taking the time to write letters of support and to rally around Klein ISD. It would not have happened without you!”

Now that the Geospatial Engineering program of study has been approved, Alpine School District is planning to begin the program in 2020-2021. The program it will be available for four years to any school district in the Klein ISD Education Service Center area. Many thanks to Isidro Garza, Chester Varner, Heather Sides and Nick Vann for helping to get this program started. If there is a high school in your area interested in this type of program, please contact Isidro Garza or DJ Kyle for more information.
