Mr. Havard was born December 3, 1979 in Lufkin, Texas to Sophie (Loving) and Curtis Havard, and died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Havard was an Assistant Area Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, and previously he was an Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and spent six years working for Goodwin-Lassiter. He had just received his surveying license and was excited to start his own surveying company. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was the family photographer, always behind the camera, rarely in front.

Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Sophie Havard of Lufkin; children, Hannah Havard, Tanner Havard, and Cayden Havard, all of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Chance and Lacy Havard; nephew, Case Havard; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Pat Loving and uncle, Jetty Loving.

Graveside services for Chase “Squirrel Shot” Havard, 39, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbert Chapel Cemetery with Greg Denman officiating.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
