CST Requirement UPDATE

Wednesday, February 28, 2024   (1 Comments)

After Richard Walters and I both heard rumors about a new certification requirement for field crews, I reached out to the PEPS Center of Excellence to determine if it was true.

The PEPS Center of Excellence confirmed that the only certification requirements for a survey contract are listed in the Precertification categories.

That would be a Registered Professional Land Surveyors and a Certified Photogrammetrist.

There’s currently no efforts to make a requirement for Certified Survey Technician (CST) for field crews at the state level.

If you know of any efforts otherwise, please let Richard Walters, Levi Pavia, and myself know so we can reach out to those involved.

If your consultant asks, you can assure them that there are no plans for a CST requirement at the state level. Individual districts may vary based on their needs.

I will let y’all know if this changes.
