SkillsUSA Texas 2020 Leadership and Skills Conference Cancellation

In light of the current public health state of emergency and concerns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the SkillsUSA Texas Board of Directors and your executive director has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Conference in Corpus Christi, TX on April 2-5, 2020.

Please know that this unprecedented decision was not made lightly, but with the health and safety of our students, advisors, employees, and volunteers as our primary concern. This conference would have involved the travel of over 8,000 participants and volunteers from across Texas to gather in close proximity. In light of the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the states of emergency being declared throughout Texas cities, the fact that many school districts will remain closed during the previously scheduled dates, and travel being banned for students and advisors indefinitely, canceling the event was the most responsible course of action.

All registrations on the registration site will be canceled. Where appropriate, refunds for payment will be issued by completing the form on our state web page.

I share your disappointment at this turn of events, and I appreciate your understanding during this challenging, ever-evolving situation. Browse our state web page for more details as they develop.
