Jane Fowler Rychlik, 78 of Ennis, TX was called to her eternal resting place September 25, 2017 with family by her side at her home in Ennis. Jane was born on August 26, 1939 in Dallas, to the late Frank Gibbs Fowler and Nancy Jane (Rogers) Fowler. She was the youngest of two children and grew up in Seagoville, TX. In high school, she sang in the choir, was the head majorette and a star basketball player at Seagoville High School. During her junior and senior years in high school, she played in the state basketball tournament, held the shooting record and was selected as a 2A All State Basketball forward. She went on to college at Henderson County Community College and played basketball on a scholarship and was also the lead majorette. On August 3, 1958, she married the love of her life, Bennie Don Rychlik, and they spent a glorious 59 years together. They began their married life together in Seagoville, Texas and later moved to Dallas and built their own home. In 1959, they welcomed their first of two sons, Steven Scott Rychlik. Their second son, Rodger Brian Rychlik arrived two years later. Jane worked for Beldon Associates, Medical Nuclear Lab and Warner-Lambert until she and her husband opened a family business, Surveying Associates, in 1983. As an officer of Surveying Associates, she helped build the business and worked there full-time even after her cancer diagnosis in 2015. She continued to play a key role in running the business while fighting her battle with lung cancer up until a few weeks before her passing. In 2000, she and Ben built their home in Ennis, TX and raised livestock. She was a devout catholic and a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, TX. She loved music and had a beautiful voice. She sang in the St. Augustine, St. John and Diocesan choirs and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also past president of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors Women’s Auxiliary. Jane loved singing, playing the piano and gardening. She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching any type of sport. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. As the matriarch of a close knit family, family gatherings were always at her house and filled with love, laughter and fun, whether it be Easter Egg hunts, family baseball or football games or a friendly, yet competitive game of Joker. She will be remembered for her love for Ben and her family, her strength, her wit and her ability to make any room light up.

Jane is survived by her husband Ben, her two sons Steven Scott Rychlik and wife Shelley of Dallas, TX, and Rodger Brian Rychlik and wife Barb of Ennis, TX, her grandchildren Mackenzie Jane Rychlik, Rex Michael Rychlik, Conner Evan Rychlik and Rachel Catherine Rychlik as well as her brother F. B. Fowler of Los Angeles, CA.
