Ellwood Aaron “Woody” Oehlert, RPLS #5216
April 8, 1943 – Feb. 7, 2017

Ellwood A. “Woody” Oehlert passed away on Feb. 7.

Born on April 8, 1943, Woody was an only child, who grew up in Nebraska and loved the outdoors. He played the saxophone throughout his school years and played football in high school and baseball at University of Nebraska. He later transferred to University of Berkeley.

Woody became a licensed surveyor in Southern California and settled in San Clemente, married and had three children – Molly, Aaron and Jenny.

Woody continued surveying for more than 40 years in California and Texas. He married his current wife, Barbara, in 1998, and they moved to Northern California in 2001. Woody was an avid tennis player and served as president of his tennis club. He also enjoyed bowling and was very active in his church. He and Barbara were very social and traveled to several countries. They also went on cruises and visited relatives and friends throughout the country.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org or, as Woody was passionate about finishing an all-inclusive room at their church, to Resurrection Ministries with the following memo: “Woody – A Place for Everyone.”
