2023 Surveying Education Foundation of Texas (SEFT) Seminar Thursday November 30, 2023 EASEMENTS (4 PDHs) Stan Piper, RPLS, PLS, LSLS Josh Leamons, RPLS, JD 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Friday December 1, 2023 2022 DATUM & THE U.S. SURVEY FOOT (4 PDHs) Shawn Billings, RPLS 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM 4 PDH & TBPELS RULES & REGULATIONS & ETHICS FOR THE LAND SURVEYOR (4 PDHs) Coleen Johnson, RPLS, PMP 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM 4 PDH (Meets Ethics/Rules PDH requirements) “EASEMENTS” Stan Piper, RPLS, PLS, LSLS, and Josh Leamons, RPLS, JD will discuss the different types of easement rights, how easements are created and removed, and the differences between public and private easements. “2022 DATUM & THE U.S. SURVEY FOOT” Shawn Billings, RPLS will discuss projections generally, the features of the Texas Regional Coordinate System of 2022 specifically, and how the 2022 Datum differs from its predecessors. The change from the U.S. Survey Foot to the International Foot and the implications when converting coordinates from SPCS83 US Survey Foot to SPCS2022 International Foot will also be discussed. “TBPELS RULES & REGULATIONS & ETHICS FOR THE LAND SURVEYOR” Coleen Johnson, RPLS, PMP, and TBPELS Board Member will discuss how all professionals have the responsibility to adhere to the laws and regulations that govern their profession, have an obligation to contribute to the betterment of their profession, and to serve their community, clients, employers, and coworkers in an honest and ethical manner. This seminar will touch upon some of the ethical responsibilities we should adhere to as professional surveyors and includes a review of some of the rules promulgated by the TBPELS.
