Over the last few years, Texas Historical Commission has extensively developed the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site which interprets the story of Austin's settlement and the town he founded. The museum will host a special Bicentennial exhibit focused on the founding of the town and the beginning of surveying of Austin Colony that will be premier as part of the Surveyors Historical Society Rendezvous in September 2023 and run through the spring of 2024.
