 Mike Miller, PPE - Keynote Speaker Bill Beardslee | Paul Carey | Alex Chiba | Dave Doyle | Eric Gakstatter Kristopher Kline | Josh W. Leamons | J. Stan Piper | Elizabeth Quintanilla | Doug Turner Mike Miller is the Director of Private and Public Engagement within the Department of Defense’s Defense Personnel and Family Support Center (DPFSC). He serves as the interface and liaison between OSD, federal inter-agency partners, state agency partners, private sector companies, technical and trade schools, and universities and colleges. He is also the engagement lead for the five offices comprising DPFSC: the Transition to Veterans Program Office, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, the Federal Voting Assistance Program, and the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program. Mike is a U.S. Army Veteran and “Soldier for Life” who served three strategic enterprise assignments in Headquarters, Department of the Army; three Chief Human Capital Officer assignments at U.S. Army installation, Division, and Corps levels; and operational deployments in Somalia and Afghanistan. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cameron University, a Master of Arts from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science from the U.S. Army War College. Bill Beardslee is a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor, Engineer and Planner with over 50 years’ experience in the field of land development. He is known for his excellent presentation and writing capabilities, along with being one of the leading technical experts on land development in the engineering and surveying arena. Bill is a past president of the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors and that society’s 2006 “Surveyor of the Year”. He is also a regular contributor to the geomatics resource magazine xyHt, as well as being listed in “Who’s Who in Technology” and “Who’s Who in the East.” 
 Paul Carey graduated from St. Mary's University, Class of '78, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. He worked as an oil field geologist in South Texas until 1980. Then Paul was employed as a Party Chief and Technician and in the San Antonio area from 1980-1986, passing the RPLS exam in 1986, and opened Carey Land Surveying the same year. In 1995, he formed a cooperative association with Frank Lubbock Kennedy, RPLS 1461 and succeeded Frank as President of Medina Valley Surveys in 2003.  Stan Piper has over fifty years of surveying experience in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University. He has been an active member of Texas Society of Professional Surveyors since 1977. Stan has prepared and presented numerous papers on various topics of boundary surveying and mapping at seminars for TSPS. His experience in surveying includes global positioning survey control for global information systems, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, topographical surveys, oil well location surveys, route surveys and boundary surveys. His surveying experience includes 68 counties in West Texas and 3 counties in Southeastern New Mexico. Since founding Piper Surveying Company in 1981, he has provided competent surveying supervision to nurture the Company to its current stage of development. 
  Elizabeth Quintanilla, MBAElizabeth Quintanilla, MBA has over 10 years of experience as a digital marketer. She is Marketing Gunslinger and Owner of EQ Consultants Group, LLC in Austin. As a consultant and speaker, she focuses on understanding the customer perspective and consults on a variety of topics: online technologies and strategies, social business, marketing (traditional, online, social, content, Go-To-Market), product marketing, and demand generation. She has a broad-base of experience in multiple industries including aerospace, franchise, IT, software, and real estate. As an expert communicator, she explains complex concepts in understandable terms and delivers high-quality creative solutions to ensure product and customer success. 
 
 Doug Turner, RPLS has been surveying in Texas for 40 years. He obtained as Associate of Arts degree in Civil Technology in 1975 and has progressed from Rodman in 1969 to Survey Director for IDS Engineering Group, a Houston based consulting firm with offices in Houston and San Antonio. He is a past Director and the immediate Past President of TSPS. .
