During the recent escalation of the population in Texas and high demand for property in our state, as well as continued economic boom given the benefits our state continues to offer to business small and large, TSPS has identified a bottle neck area within the §1071.253, Tex. Occ. Cod. that requires SIT applicants to first apply to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (“TBPELS”) and meet the certain education and experience criteria set out within §1071.253, Tex. Occ. Cod. before the TBPELS can notify the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (“NCEES”) that the applicant is acceptable to take the Fundamentals of Surveying (“FS”) exam.

Please contact your State Senator & Representative in advance to make an appointment to meet with them. Click here to identify who your legislators are and how to contact them.
As their constituent, they will want to visit with you. Ask for a few minutes of their time to speak about issues important to Texas surveyors. Be sure to forward confirmed appointments to lind@tsps.org.
