created and perpetuated throughout the years.

This course will explore the topic of ethics as it pertains to modern day business and, particularly the profession of land surveying. We’ll look at how the age-old mantra “Following the footsteps” can be applied not only to the field work that we all find so rewarding, but also to our business practice in these demanding times of fast pace and high-technology.

Presented By:

Friday Seminars Speaker

Davey Edwards PhD, PLS, LSLS, CFedS

Over the last two decades, Dr. Davey Edwards has put together a suite of professional licensure, higher education, and an unprecedented portfolio that has placed him in an elite group of cadastral scientists. Through his company, Land Systems Consulting Group, he provides a highly specialized service in the analysis of original land grant and ambiguous border treaty issues. He has worked in the field and office to reconstruct obliterated land grants with little to no original monumentation and even sparsely detailed notes and he has acquired an expertise in riparian and littoral boundaries that combined with a keen understanding of the original land grant uniqueness has given him the reputation that is sought by legal counsel and governmental officials in Texas and beyond. Davey is currently a professional land surveyor in Texas and Oklahoma. He also has been duly qualified as a Texas licensed state land surveyor and a U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Federal land surveyor (CFedS). He is currently a professional assistant professor in the Geographic Information Systems and Geospatial Systems Engineering programs at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and is the appointed director of the Texas Spatial Reference Center in the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science.
