The objective of the Speaker Development Program is to create and develop a pool of qualified instructors that are trained and experienced in providing a quality education experience. This program also provides a resource for professionals that are interested in improving their communication skills. After successful completion of the speaker development program, speakers are entered into the TSPS Approved Speakers Pool.

Speaker Pool
To become a registered presenter, the Education Committee must approve the candidate’s education, qualifications and experience. Only those professionals with qualified relevant experience and demonstrated communication skills will be approved to present TSPS Brand courses.

Speaker Training
As part of the training and development process, certain communication courses should be completed. TSPS education committee will suggest or approve courses that cover a variety of topics related to adult training, education and communication. TSPS will develop TSPS Brand Seminars designed toward developing speaking and training skills. Examples of such courses are:

  • Presentation Skills – understanding various presentation styles, establishing the right presentation type for the topic.
  • Public Speaking – Learning to speak before large groups. (Toastmasters, community college courses)
  • Learning and Instruction – Fundamentals of instruction, adult education, use of handouts and visual aids.

Peer Review
An important component of speaker development is feedback and review. Course evaluations will be reviewed by the Education Committee to insure that each registered speaker is providing a quality education experience.

Speaker Fees
Most seminar presenters are volunteers who donate their time and energy for the benefit of TSPS. In the cases where speakers are paid, the fee will be in accordance with the TSPS Seminar Policy & Symposium Policy.
