REAL ESTATE DIVISION OF THE STATE BAR
 


REAL ESTATE LIAISON


No activity since last report. I am currently seeking a committee member or Co-Chair for

this committee to help in my absence.
 

If there are any issues or concerns that anyone knows of that needs to be addressed by

this committee, please let me know.
 

I welcome any input and suggestions from past committee members and the general

membership. Listed below are the previous committee charge and various tasks assigned

to this committee:
 

Committee Charge:

Continue to represent the objectives of TSPS before TAR. Keep TSPS Executive

Committee and Board of Directors informed of any actions required by TSPS. Develop a

liaison contact at TAR and hold a minimum of once-a-month discussions concerning

TSPS objectives and joint issues. Coordinate with other TSPS committees, as required

by issues of concern.
 

Tasks:

 Consider expanding this committee to have five Co-Chairs to correspond to the

five TSPS chapter areas...See link with TLTA Liaison and five co-chairs;

  • Prepare outline for TSPS Speakers at Real Estate meetings;

  • Invitation for Real Estate Liaison to have exhibit at TSPS convention;

  • Deliver a report at each quarterly board meeting responding to committee charges
    and task. Discussing actions, no action, problems, contacts made, input or

    concerns from other organization;

  • Through out the year develop a short report to be presented and included in the
    annual business meeting concerning the objects and concerns of this organization;


TxDOT
 

Since our last report the Standing Committee on Surveying (SCOS) has held a meeting on November 19, 2008 at the Camp Hubbard TxDOT campus.

 

Sub-committee reports:

Pre-Certification, Jon Cox has been fairly active with people changing firms and adding categories

Survey Manual, Dean Wilkerson has minor revisions coming in February, 2009.

GPS Manual, Steve Schimidt changes should be ready in February, 2009 with the Survey Manual and GPS manual being combined in 2010.

These were the only sub-committees with any activity.

 

Old Business:

The March 2009 conference has a bunch of new rules that must be adhered to. During the Technology Expo on Tuesday night, finger foods, sodas, tea and water, no cash bar. Vendor hosted Hospitality Rooms will have to meet the mew TxDOT requirements. No door prizes will be allowed.

Surveying Classifications are being review with recommendation from the Dallas, San Antonio and San Angelo districts.

Regionalization-Effects on Surveying include Survey Safety Awareness, Survey Training, Survey Contracts, at least one survey crew per District.

Survey Traffic Control Procedures; notify all District Surveyors and survey contractors of all the new requirements for traffic control.

 

New Business:

Map Check List is being revised. The tentative program for the March 2009 conference is set-up and will be finalize in January, 2009
