We contacted all TSPS
Board of Directors and Chapter Presidents requesting nominations.
Reminded the Chapter Presidents, according to TSPS Bylaws, all
“nominations must be received by the Awards Committee prior
to the second Quarterly TSPS Board of Directors meeting”.
Nominations received
after this date cannot be considered by the Committee.

MEMBERSHIP
The membership committee is made
up of Robert Young and Lemuel Sinclair at this time. At the TSPS Board
meeting, there will be a portion of the Chapter President’s Forum where
Lem Sinclair will call out to chapter membership chairpersons to help us
in the effort to make sure that all Surveyors, Technicians, and employees
are given an invitation, as well as a phone call or visit to ask them to
join. If they are not willing, the goal is to find the reasons why people
are not members so we can address these issues if we can identify them,
quantify them, and come up with solutions.
Jerry Cutts, RPLS of El Paso has
brought forth ideas to make sure we contact vendors of all kinds that
Surveyors do business with to make sure they are given opporunities to
join also.
There is a letter that was
prepared by Lem Sinclair that is to appear in the next METES AND BOUNDS
To also help remind people to renew their memberships.
There is still desire to
coordinate with the GIS committee and others to address the GIS community
and do our best to help them find a place in TSPS. There is not a new
category for them at this time, as it remains in on-going discussions.
This committee is requesting an
amount of $3000.00 for the next budget in order to create, print, and
attach to the TSPS web site a new and revised membership application that
not only states the categories and amounts, but also the benefits, and
member services that are provided when people make the decision to fill it
out on line or send it in by mail or fax.

PAST PRESIDENT'S
COMMITTEE
This committee has no
report at this time. The committee will meet on February 10, 2007.
PRODUCT SALES
The Committee has had two
meetings since the last board meeting. At the time of my last report, I
was promoting a new shirt. We have since ordered those, had the logo put
on and took them to the leadership orientation meeting. We had a few sales
of the shirts at that meeting. The sizes I was able to get on the initial
order was not the most popular sizes so I will be ordering more of these
shirts to bring to the Spring Symposium on February 23rd and 24th.
As of the end of November, 2006, we have over $26,000.00 in sales due in
large part to the sale of the new RPLS rings and money clips. I will be at
Spring Symposium and will be bringing order forms for these rings and
money clips, and as always, books.
