COMMITTEE ACTIVITY REPORT
 

This committee had a meeting in October 2004 during the convention. The projects to date are still in action and will continue to be addressed. The committee has submitted a budget request for the year 2005. It is hopeful that the funding for the year 2005 will get us back on track with the charges of this committee.

The results of the 2004 Strategic Planning session are as follows:

Public Relations

            GOAL: Finalize e-card
                        Seek independent funding to continue
            GOAL: Send letters to teachers to include:
                        Information on e-card
                        scholarships through TSFI
                        programs for students like survey camp, BSA merit badge
                        survey demographics generated by Gary Jeffress.  (might
                        want more commentary from Gary to send along)
            GOAL: Seek info re museums with survey display
                        Work with them to have a live surveyor on site
                        Create a list for web posting
            GOAL:  Develop a how-to for community involvement to make surveying a more visible profession
            PROBLEM:  Committee needs more members and funding.

It is the hope of this committee that we can get back on track with these matters after the October 2004 meeting and throughout the year 2005. This committee will be adding additional members to allow for all of these goals to be met.
